Within the first 2 weeks of Guild Wars 2 going live Arena Net has had two million copies of Guild Wars 2 sold. This is despite the halt on sales to avoid the same issue Diablo 3 had of having to many people logged into the same areas at once and despite the early login issues and hackers breaking into accounts via the use of compromised emails and passwords from other games and websites.

It's not surprising Guild Wars 2 has sold so many copies due to having received many rave reviews and a huge following from players such as ourselves. "Reactions from around the world justified the time and care we put into developing Guild Wars 2 and making it into the game it is today", said Mike O'Brien, president and co-founder of Arena Net. "And this is only the beginning. We're continually fine-tuning the game to deliver the polished experience that our players expect, and we're already working on new adventures and experiences to introduce into this truly dynamic online world."
