We're looking into bringing life back to GuildWars2Live and we need some help. A lot of help actually. Shortly after the release of Guild Wars 2 the majority of our original team has disbanded for one reason or another - mostly because life happened. In the short time since we started, huge accomplishments were made and we would hate to see that eventually go to waste. Our regular viewers have no doubt noticed the decline in shows here, especially after the last holiday season.
As always, we're hoping to build relationships which will benefit GuildWars2Live, its community, and the individual streamers.
We're looking to gather a new team of streamers here to call GuildWars2Live their own. Steamers will have to stream according to a regular schedule for viewers to follow. We will figure out schedule times that work for each individual streamer. All levels of skill are welcome, as long as you do your best to enjoy yourself. You may continue to stream on your own channel as you please.
We may also require some volunteer moderators to keep chat clean and aid streamers.
I wish we could offer dental coverage. Instead, ad revenue generated from commercial breaks will be divided among streamers. There is ad revenue to be generated by highlighting Twitch broadcasts and uploading them to our Youtube channel as well. It will be pennies (and kinda rough) at the start, but we have some experience in growing a brand I think.
Of course, (we hope) that your love for Guild Wars 2 comes first before revenue! Honest passion for the game is the only thing we want to show our viewers.
Streamers are allowed to promote their own channel and social media sites, similar to Destructoid's Twitch format for those of you familiar with them. However as mentioned above, we really hope that new streamers embrace our channel and make it their own.
- You must have a microphone at all times and be able to respond to live chat on a second screen.
- A face camera is not required, but would definitely be a plus if you want attention.
- At the very least you must be able to stream at 720p (or close to it) at 25 frames per second.
- Other sources of music should be used at a minimum - and definitely not used to replace your own voice.

Congratulations to Guild Wars 2 for a great first year! A year ago from today you opened the doors to the public for early access and have since changed how gamers look at MMORPGs. What is an MMO without dynamic events and new experiences within every month with the option to not drop a single dime for it? We would not know without you. Happy birthday!

Colin Johanson revealed huge changes coming to Guild Wars 2. You should go and read it all now. Afterwards, sit back and think about what this all means. There is a lot of great news there and having that knowledge is going to affect how you play next time you log into the game.
Just to point out a few things, crafting will be expanded to 500 levels from 400. The extra 100 levels involves crafting items that can only be done once a day and include materials from all tiers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is turning Guild Wars 2 into Animal Crossing. There are quite a few mechanics already that encourage the player to log in once a day. For the hardcore, having more than one Guild Wars 2 account is no doubt beneficial.
On the flip side, there are plans to remove magic find from equipment and put more emphasis on using consumables and acquiring account side bonuses.
A specific way to build a precursor is on the way, though no details have been revealed. For many of us the means of obtaining a precursor safely has been to farm gold in all the various ways possible. While I don't think this news alone will affect the price of precursors, the revealed method will certainly impact something - so we can only hope that what we're doing now is the right thing. WIll hoarders prevail?
Character progression has been pretty boring, admit it. Especially if you only enjoy playing a few characters out of the 8 professions and personal storylines aren't cutting it. Finally new skills and traits are coming. We always hope that this kind of thing would add enough confusion to the game to provide a false sense of balance and more focus on personal play style. I don't believe in balance, so I don't complain about it either - personalization for the fun!

Finally comes the time to harvest the sweet labor of all those hours put into Guild Wars 2!
In the upcoming release we will be able to spend our achievement points to unlock new and exclusive rewards:
Exclusive armor and weapon skin unlocks - including Radiant armor, Hellfire armor, and the Zenith weapon set.
Permanent account bonuses - permanent boosts to Magic Find, experience from kills, karma gain, and more. Earn achievement points on any character and get rewards for all of your characters.
Currencies - gold, gems, karma, and laurels.
PvP Rewards - skins and glory boosters.
WvW Rewards - use Badges of Honor and siege blueprints to help push your server to victory.
Utility Items - Instant Repair Canisters, Revive Orbs, powerful boosters, and more.
Unique Titles - show off your dedication to your fellow players.
Along with this they are also revamping the Achievement UI, so we cant wait to see what impact this will have on the game!

Yesterday on July 2nd, news came out from ArenaNet on what we can expect from Guild Wars 2 in the coming months. It was presented in a blog post and a video where Colin Johanson talks about the Living World and what we can expect from updates.
ArenaNet has been incredibly good at putting out a constant flow of updates for the game through the living story these past few months, with a small team working on these new small events to test out different ideas. But now they are turning up the flow of updates to an update every two weeks!
As they say themselves.
“To make the world of Tyria feel alive, first and foremost it needs to frequently update and change. We're excited to announce we have adopted a two-week major release cadence going forward for Guild Wars 2.”
We can expect updates to include both new content in new areas as well as updates to old areas. Old content will be refined and events will be created that will change the old landscape of the game as we know it.
I think the goal of what ArenaNet is trying to do with Guild Wars 2 right now is very noble. No other MMO has ever put out this much free content so fast! But I can't help to think quality over quantity. Colin Johanson addressed this a bit in the video himself, by stating that they now have four different teams working on individual content instead of a single team working to put out content once a month.
I am not going to lie, I have personally been pretty unsatisfied with the content put out the last few months, the Living Story never had much appeal to me, and the Dungeons were rather unimpressive. Finally here came the Sky Pirates and the Aetherblade Dungeon, but here I have run into trouble as well, with my game starting to drop more frames than usual. I can't help but think this is because of the lack of time to optimize these new instances since designing and optimizing levels take quite a long time. Many game developer companies have whole QA teams assigned to optimizing levels, and with the small teams working on Guild Wars 2 content right now I fear for the quality of the updates. Also seeing my Achievement menu being packed with all these achievements I will never get because I wasn't around for a certain period of time makes my OCD go crazy, it's just a small thing, but I hope they do something about it.
Of course there was a mention of more permanent content added to the game, and I am hoping to be proved wrong in what I said here, and that we will see some more immersive storytelling and some new impressive content coming out of the new updates.
One thing is certain, and that is the next few months in the world of Tyria will be exciting for us all. Let's see if the devs can keep up with what they promise.

Mad King's Tower wasn't a jumping puzzle. Nope, it's not. It's just that most people have forgotten how to play those reverse Crash Bandicoot levels. Precise reflex and a good memory is the name of the game. The same will probably apply here too. Sanctum Sprint , is a competitive race that will send you leaping over barriers and flying through the air. It is described as a "dizzying obstacle course". Is your body ready?

Account Achievement Reward System
I knew it! Though my prediction was that achievement points would be the new currency of Guild Wars 3 to piss people off in LA map chat.
From now on, you'll be able to unlock rewards like exclusive new armor skins, weapon skins, and permanent account bonuses as you earn achievement points on your account. These rewards will be retroactively awarded for any tiers of account achievement rewards you've already earned on your account.

Finally it's time to announce our winner for the signed Collector's Edition of Guild Wars 2. Again our team would like to give huge thanks to ArenaNet for showing continued support for fan sites like ours. The CE box is certainly one of a kind having really too many signatures to count on all its sides. I certainly think that the box is worth more than the contests within.

If your like some of us who love to see Guild Wars 2 in the best possible graphics and have an Nvidia graphics card(s), then you'll be happy to know that Nvidia has been working to fix a couple of graphics issues with Guild Wars 2.
If you've seen "Corruption is seen when launching the game with Ambient Occlusion enabled" or "Ambient Occlusion effect disappears at different camera angles and when using supersampling" then maybe you should try the new 313.96 Beta drivers.
